Words cannot express how highly we recommend Colette of Prairie Creek Cane Corso and cannot imagine buying a dog from anyone else but her. Our first Cane Corso came from a backyard breeder and we dearly paid the price for it. It ended up being 3 years of utter turmoil and heartbreak with a Femoral Head Ostectomy at 6 months old, a torn ACL that required 2 plates and 14 screws to repair at 18 months and Grand Mal Epilepsy that eventually claimed his life.
Colette came highly recommended to us by a reputable breeder as we searched tirelessly for a healthy pup to fill our void. If there is one person who is committed to the success and strengthening of the breed, that person is Colette. She works diligently with her dogs and strives for nothing less than perfection. Not one day has gone by since we picked up our Dolce that we haven’t interacted with Colette in some way. I can confidently attest to the fact that she devotes her life to education, research and the overall well being of these dogs.
Colette has really exceeded all of our expectations in regards to what a RESPONSIBLE breeder is. She has stood by us every step of the way with food recommendations, supplement information, breed education, training education and has the expertise to guide us in our journey with our Dolce.

She has carefully selected the best parents for these pups and the quality and temperament of her dogs speak volumes. Prairie Creek Cane Corso was by far the best breeder I could have hoped for. I looked at a lot of breeders and none of them really met my standards and expectations. Incredibly knowledgeable and always has the dogs best interests at heart. The dogs are more than well taken care of, they start them off with a great base of training and socializing. All I can say is Colette and the dedication that she puts into her breeding program is phenomenal and reflected in each and every puppy.
I have always loved the Corso breed. I, like many people, spent hours researching the breed and breeders. After going back and forth with various breeders, I finally found Colette at Prairie Creek Cane Corso. She was patient with all my questions, listened to me tell my endless stories of my previous Corso, and reassured me over and over and over. I finally found someone who was interested in placing the right puppy with me instead of simply making a sale. I placed a deposit and then waited, and waited, and waited for my puppy to finally arrive. The 8-month wait was definitely worth it!!!!
The puppy I received was everything I wanted and more. I picked up an eight-week old puppy and fell completely in love. The time and effort Colette spends with each puppy shows. She truly knows her puppies and makes sure they are going to the right homes for both the family and the puppy. Jaxx is as well-adjusted as any puppy I have ever met. As an example, at six months of age, I can count the accidents he had in the house on one hand. He is great with my family including my two nephews who are currently four and two years old. We recently started handling classes and obedience training. The instructors, and I are amazed with his “I got this!” attitude. He is eager to please and a quick learner.
I could not be happier with my boy. Colette continues to provide advice and assistance as anything comes up. She has been my number one resource when it comes to everything, from food recommendations, to vet care, to general knowledge. She knows her breed and wants what is best for each puppy. I got a male from her in the summer of 2019 - one year later, I can firmly attest to the stable temperament and perfect health of my dog. He is an excellent working specimen who blended into our family (which includes two young children) effortlessly.
Our Corso is intelligent, athletic, handsome, sweet and social. Furthermore he has impeccable discernment abilities, natural at protection and has a fantastic ‘traditional Corsi temperament’. He works hard and loves his family even harder. You couldn’t get a better representation of the breed than from Prairie Creek.
In addition, I must add that Colette is an exemplary breeder who is passionate about the goal of bettering the breed. Her treatment of her own Corsi, and their puppies, is the ‘golden standard’ that few, if any, can come close to. I found her to be highly knowledgeable, approachable and professional. She was, and continues to be, a huge support - from conception to present day. I actually enjoy staying in touch with her and found the breeder / owner relationship to be appropriate and comfortable.
I will 100% be getting another Corso from her, and will likely be a lifetime customer as I cannot imagine owning another breed again.

Prim is a prime example of an all around excellent representative of the breed. Her workability is second to none, and her nerves are super sound. I can already put a clatter stick over head while on the bite, and she don’t change her grip !! Lots of adults even take time to get to that stage, shows the excellent genetics, and the program you introduced them to as young pups shines thru. Not only that but you paired her up with an amazing owner/handler in Brooke! Her handling skills are fantastic for a working dog and I can see a bright future for them if they pursue any type of working venues.

Prairie Creek Cane Corso are phenomenal breeders. They are extremely responsible and very caring. They are a very modest family oriented breeder. They welcome potential owners to their home to meet their dogs and you get to see first hand well behaved and friendly ambassadors of the breed!
My husband and I had the pleasure of knowing them before we were even thinking about adding to our family. So we know personally what great people they are! I was looking for a puppy to keep me company while my husband is away for work and also to help me feel safe being by myself. And this breed fit that mold.
I was looking for a responsible breeder who had a few great quality litters a year and one who did genetic testing to screen problems common to the breed. And they do all of that and so much more. I can’t imagine getting a puppy from anyone else.
One of the many reasons that I picked Prairie Creek is because Colette was a thoughtful communicator right from the very beginning and we had meaningful conversations about her dogs. I could tell that she genuinely cared for her dogs as family members. And when I would reach out to ask questions the support that I have received and am still receiving is priceless. Every question has been answered and if the answer was unknown by her, she would research with her tight network until the question was answered.
The time and effort that Colette put into each litter is the number one reason that I will be getting another puppy from her. She goes above and beyond what most breeders do in my opinion. She sets her owners up for success to bring their little ones home with a great starter base in manners and training that’s easy to grow on. The puppies are temperament tested so you leave with the right puppy for your family.
My pup is a beautiful example of her amazing genetics. I could write a novel about my girl, she’s happy, confident, gorgeous, a spitfire and a million other things. I can’t say enough about her!
I also know that Colette’s dogs deserve extremely committed families who will be responsible in every way. Unfortunately that doesn’t describe just any owner. If you are willing to realize that you are getting a guardian breed that needs training and socializing and understand that they need to be part of the family then I absolutely recommend Colette exclusively but if it’s all about looks or your ego or if you call yourself a fur parent then this is NOT the breed or breeder for you!!

We fell in love with this breed while raising our last dog.
